At National Convention, NSP recognizes Manager achievements through the annual Development Awards program.
The qualification period for these awards is Jan. 1–Oct. 31.

Sponsoring Development Award (100 points required*)
The Sponsoring Development Award centers on sharing Nature’s Sunshine with others. When you sponsor someone with Nature’s Sunshine, you add strength and consistency to your group.
Each Manager** will receive 1 point for each new Member he or she personally sponsors (domestic and international).
†An additional 5 points will be awarded to the Manager for each qualifying new Member who personally sponsors at least one new Member of his or her own.
*In order to qualify for any Development Award, a Manager must hold rank in the final month of qualification at least equal to his or her rank in the last month of the previous qualification period.
**You must be paid as a Manager the month you sponsor in order to receive the sponsoring point.
†To receive the qualified new Member points, the sponsoring Member must have signed up during a month you were paid as a Manager.
Manager Development Award (100 points required*)
The Manager Development Award focuses on your successline. Just as you are the foundation of our success, your Managers are the foundation of yours. Turning your Members into Managers stabilizes your group, solidifies your foundation and insures your continued success.
At the end of the current qualification term, Managers will receive 20 points for each additional Manager in their successline** above their total Manager count in the final month of the previous term.
Sales Increase Development Award (100 points required.)
The Sales Increase Development Award emphasizes improving the bottom line throughout your successline.
A Manager will receive 12 points for each successline** QV increase of 10,000 over his or her total from the previous qualification period (January 1, 2009–October 31, 2009). (Minimum base of 10,000 QV)
*In order to qualify for any Development Award, a Manager must hold rank in the final month of qualification at least
equal to his or her rank in the last month of the previous qualification period.
**Successline includes you and all of your Members and Managers through five levels.
How Will You Be Recognized?
Receive the following benefits for achieving the requirements in each of the Development Award categories:
Leadership Award
Each Manager who qualifies for all three Development Awards—Sponsoring, Manager Development and Sales Increase—will receive the Leadership Award. In addition to special on-stage recognition, the Manager will be awarded up to $500 for a special Leadership Dinner* with his/her first-level Managers.
President’s Trophy Award
The top Leadership Award qualifiers will be honored as President’s Trophy earners. To determine the top qualifiers, points will be totaled from each of the three Development Awards. To encourage and recognize balanced achievement, a maximum of 200 points from each individual award will be tallied.
In addition to the benefits granted to Leadership Award earners, President’s Trophy earners will receive an all-expenses-paid trip for two, including airfare, to Leaders Conference.
*In order for NSP to reimburse you up to $500 for the dinner, Home Office must receive a copy of the restaurant receipt showing how much you paid and a list of the Managers in attendance. Both items must be sent to:

Manager of the Year
Every year, a special Manager-of-the-Year committee carefully selects one Manager team from the list of Leadership and President’s Trophy earners to be honored as Manager of the Year. This Manager/team not only demonstrates impressive achievement in the Development Awards program but also exemplifies principles of success, such as integrity, service, commitment and ethical practices. In addition to the benefits granted to President’s Trophy earners, Managers of the Year are awarded VIP treatment at Rising Star, National Convention and TAC Trip.
Recognition for Training and Education
Nature’s Sunshine has always been and will always be dedicated to providing and encouraging excellent training and education. We expect that those Managers who are committed to this goal will achieve the greatest success in our Development Awards Program.
Every year, several Managers who provide outstanding training and education to their downlines and communities through herb conferences, classes, newsletters and more will be recognized by NSP.
Rank Advancement
Rank advancement pins and certificates will be sent to the advancing account holders after they have maintained the new rank (or higher) for three consecutive months. Recognition in the Ovations section of the Sunshine Horizons or Manager Extra
magazines will also be done after the third consecutive month is completed for our New Area Managers and above.

Development Award Guidelines
- Points earned are for award purposes only. They have no redemption value.
- Any sponsor who breaks out as a Manager at the time of the bonus run will be awarded the sponsoring points for that month.
