Temporary Race Recap Targ ABasin
September 9, 2025
FROM THE TETONS TO THE ROCKIES
The Cirque Series rolled from the shadow of the Tetons in Wyoming to the high Rockies of Colorado, providing backdrops as wild and inspiring as the runners themselves. From ridgelines to summits, these mountain venues embodied the spirit of Be More Earth—a perfect stage for grit, camaraderie, and celebration at altitude.
GRAND TARGHEE RECAP
On August 30, the series arrived at Grand Targhee, Wyoming under blue skies and radiant sunshine. The 6.75-mile course packed in over 2,000 feet of climbing, leading athletes to breathtaking views of the Grand Teton and the rocky summit of Mary’s Nipple (9,920 ft). With steep ridge running and technical descents, it was world-class high alpine racing at its finest.
Congratulations to Mason Coppi of Lakewood, CO, who blazed through the course in just 49 minutes, earning the men’s top spot, and to Jane Maus of Salt Lake City, UT, who claimed first for the women in 59 minutes. Positive vibes and sunny skies made this stop a fan and athlete favorite.
A’BASIN RECAP
Just one week later, on September 6, the Cirque caravan landed at Arapahoe Basin, Colorado—better known as A’Basin. Famous for being the first ski resort to open most seasons, A’Basin delivered a rugged course through its high-elevation forest canyon. The morning began cold and smoky, but the sun broke through to energize over 700 runners tackling the 9-mile course.
Andy Wacker of Boulder, CO, took the men’s victory in 1:05, while Boulder’s Rena Schwartz powered through to the women’s win in 1:18. With so many first-timers and returning athletes, the A’Basin race underscored the incredible depth and passion of the Cirque community.
