WHEN THE MOUNTAIN IS THE ONLY ESCAPE
As Salt Lake City broke weather records for hottest temperature ever officially recorded (highs of 109°F), mountain runners broke records racing across Snowbird.
The route climbed to Hidden Peak, traversed the rugged slopes of Mount Baldy, descended through the massive boulders of Mineral Basin, climbed through the famous Peruvian Tunnel, and finished back at the Tram Deck where music, cheering spectators, and the unmistakable energy kept things cool.
Cirque Series has always been about embracing big mountains. Snowbird once again delivered a challenge worthy of the athletes who showed up to take it on.
COPPI MAKES HISTORY
Somehow, despite the summer heat, Mason Coppi made one of the toughest courses on the schedule look even faster.
The Lakewood, Colorado native defended his Snowbird title in spectacular fashion, crossing the finish line in 1:17:34 to win back-to-back Snowbird championships while setting a brand-new course record.
